Access to Sports Science

Level 3: The Cheadle College

This exciting and practical course has been designed to develop necessary skills for progression in the sport and active leisure industry.

All assessment is coursework based.  Students produce a portfolio of work that is internally and externally assessed.

The qualification is equivalent to 3 A levels at A* – C

More than just a course

The broad range of disciplines and subjects covered on the course will allow you to develop necessary skills relevant for progression in the sport and active leisure industry. The units include Anatomy & Physiology, Diet and Nutrition, Fitness Trainer, Teaching and Coaching, Sports Psychology.

A portfolio of written assignments practical role plays/observations and internal/external assessments will provide you with a broad and diverse learning experience.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade C or above in English or Maths.

A willingness to collect, organise and interpret information to produce a portfolio of work. The ability to work independently and to meet deadlines

We are an inclusive College and will consider all applications on a case by case basis with no previous experience.

Money matters

If you are aged 19 or older, you will be able to apply for a loan to help with the costs of this course. You won’t pay anything back until you’re earning over £21,000 a year. If you then complete a higher education course, you won’t have to repay the remainder of the loan.

Age 19 to 23 – Fee remission applies to someone in receipt of eligible benefits, or where someone is studying their first full Level 3 course.
